The Swiss national floorball team will have to do without strikers Christoph Meier and Claudio Laely and without defender Tobias Heller in the future. The trio Grasshoppers has announced that they will stop playing top sport.

Meier has competed in every floorball world championship since 2014, five in all. The 31-year-old played 79 international matches and collected the same number of score points. In his last season, he was ranked tenth among the world’s best players according to a Swedish internet portal.

A year younger, Laely appeared 87 times for the Swiss national team. He took part in four world championships and, like Meier, won bronze twice. The 29-year-old Heller played one World Cup less. (SDA/dti)
