Man arrested for selling fake tickets for Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Osasuna

A 37-year-old man residing in Asturias was arrested in Alcorcón (Madrid), accused of selling fake tickets for the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Osasuna, which will be played this Saturday in Seville.

The investigation, reported by the Navarre Civil Guard, began after several complaints were received in Pamplona about alleged fraud when buying tickets for the match online.

According to the press release of the Civil Guard, the arrested person advertised the tickets on a well-known portal for the sale of used products, claiming that he had bought them and that since he could not come, he had to sell them.

In order to carry out the sale, he traveled to the place of residence of the injured parties in order to personally complete the transaction and thus try to leave as little evidence as possible.

After learning of the facts, the Navarre Civil Guard issued a national search and arrest warrant that culminated in the arrest of the suspect this Wednesday in Alcorcón by the national police.

The agents in charge of the investigation discovered that this fraud was taking place across the entire national territory. In Navarre, several fake tickets are known to have been sold and at least three people have been defrauded.

In Seville, more people are affected and there may be a significant and still undetermined number of false entries throughout the national territory.

The Civil Guard confirmed that the fake tickets were in fact copies of invitations from the Spanish Football Association for the 2022 Cup final, which is also being played in Sevilla.
