Snap! Heiko Vogel (47) is finally in the coaching trap after reaching the semi-finals of the Conference League with FC Basel. And shows no interest in getting out. I can give him things for successful work. And it is more pleasant for a new coach to take over a successful and confident team than an insecure one.”
But what if the first revenue crisis hits next season? And everyone waiting for Vogel to step back in as a trainer? Answer: «The fact that I jump back and forth between sports director and interim coach should not be a permanent solution. The goal is to work successfully with the new coach for as long as possible.”
That is why Vogel continued the search for a coach in Nice between the last training session and kick-off. The day after making progress, he hinted that white smoke could soon be rising over Joggeli: “We are working very hard and hope to announce something soon.” Appropriately, a new name has recently been haunting the rumor mill: Timo Schultz (45), legendary player from St. Pauli and coach at Millerntor until last December.
