It was the big shock of the NFL season: Bills defenseman Damar Hamlin (25) collapsed in early January after a hard blow in the middle of the game and suffered a heart attack. This was followed by resuscitation attempts on the field and anxious hours in hospital, where Hamlin’s life was ultimately saved.
Now, almost three months or 106 days after the accident, he is back on the football field. He has been participating in his Buffalo Bills training since the beginning of the week, after receiving doctor’s approval.
Giving up was never a problem for safety: “My heart still beats for the game, I want to return. I died on national television for all the world to see, so I see it from all angles,” Hamlin said on a press conference.
It will be a while before you see him in full action on the field again. The NFL doesn’t start its season until September. (byl)
