Kloten-Dietlikon Jets are Swiss champions

The Swiss women’s championship cup remains in the Zurich Unterland. Thanks to a 4:2 victory in the superfinal against Skorpion Emmental Zollbrück, the Kloten-Dietlikon Jets are crowned Swiss champions for the fourth time in a row.

For half an hour, little noteworthy happened in the match, which was characterized by many technical imperfections, after which three goals were scored within 60 seconds. First, Noomi rollover put Kloten-Dietlikon ahead after a rehearsed free hit variant, shortly after that Nathalie Spichiger equalized after an offensive ball win, a few seconds later Laila Ediz scored the 2-1 with a precise shot from a tight angle.

In the last third, Emmental Zollbrück tries in vain to equalize. Instead, Chiara Bertini and Leonie Wieland made it 4-1 at the start of the last ten minutes with the preliminary decision goals in favor of the Dietlikers who entered the game as outsiders of interim coach Julia Suter.

Instead of the first Swiss champion from the canton of Bern, the eighth superfinal yields the tenth and perhaps least expected title for Kloten-Dietlikon. After the hat-trick last year, the Zurich team complained about further important departures and competed for the championship with the youngest team in the league and said goodbye to coach Thomas Appenzeller before Christmas.
