Exhibition on the occasion of World Art Day

Today, April 15, is World Art Day, a celebration that promotes the development, expansion and promotion of art.

The announcement of this celebration was made at the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2019.

Activities for World Art Day help strengthen the ties between artistic creativity and society, to promote greater awareness of the diversity of artistic expression and to emphasize the contribution of artists to sustainable development.

For this reason, W Panama presents Art, an initiative through which he intends to serve as a space for glorifying the talent of local artists, while bringing his guests and visitors closer to a collection of unpublished works and experiences around them.

Art culture includes an art exhibition in vestibule from the hotel and complementary experiences ranging from a themed breakfast to a workshop.

In this first edition, the hotel presents Mario Saldana, An artist who, through his works, represents Panamanian customs in the world of imagination.

The official opening of this exhibition took place last April 13. The evening was accompanied by folklore performances.

Exposure Mario Saldana in Western Panama It will contain more than 30 works labeled by the artist as “Panama costumbrista, en colores”. The exhibition will be available in the lobby until the first week of May.

In the same way, the public will be able to purchase goods from artist: from paintings and handkerchiefs to glasses, among other things.

The artist stated: “I love abstract and contemporary art, I am a participant and a lover of tradition.folklore my country and I have brought Panamanian costumbrismo to a style in which lines and shapes between minor and color have a permanent stamp”.

In addition, there will be two activities open to the public. April 16 will be W Brunch ft. Art Culture Pop-Up, where you can enjoy a variety of local and international gastronomy and cocktails, as well as music by Miroslava Morales. Mario Saldaña will also paint live on this day. The snack will last from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and will cost $42.

April 27 at 4:00 p.m. in ul vestibule of the hotel will be a painting workshop Taught by Saldaña. This activity is free, but the number of places is limited, so those interested in participating must make a reservation.
