Noia is already in the focus of all eyes in the car world. At 7:20 p.m. this Friday, the action begins in Rally Cockle, the second round of the Championship of Galicia which started in A Coruña and which left Víctor Senra as the first leader of the competition. Due to his status as defending champion, and the fact that he was the clear dominator of the competition in the Herculean city, the driver from Dumbria, accompanied by David Vázquez in his Citroën C3 WRC, starts as the clear favorite in Barbanzas. Once more, Alberto Meira He will be his great rival for the final victory, waiting to see what he can do. Jago Caamanowho was third in A Coruña and was more than two and a half minutes behind Senra.

There are a total of 121 participants on the list of registered participants who will surely show themselves well on the roads of Noia, Outes, Lousama and Mazaricos, the municipalities through which the rally is held this year. In its thirty-seventh edition, the opening day expands its appeal by adding an Autos Patiño section to an already urban classic.

The route that the race will open at 19:20 consists of 10.7 kilometers and runs between Tállara and Camboño. The organization added a kilometer to the usual route for this edition, after seeing that it was well received. This is evident due to the narrowness of the trail at the beginning of the uphill climb to the Iroita junction. At that point the pitch changes and pilots will face a descent with changes in pitch and hairpins.

When crossing the finish, participants will not be able to relax as they will have to head towards Noia to face the urban section, known as Transportes El Jaime. At 20:00, the first car will start on a short track of 1.85 kilometers, which does not cover long distances, but which can leave surprises in the form of accidents and withdrawals.

Saturday, the decisive day

The day will be used to open our mouths for Saturday, when all the meat will need to be put on the skewer. Four double legs will put each team in its place. Vrum kayaks, in Outes, will run at 8.55 and 12.10. From there they will go to Mazaricos, stopping at 9.25 and 12.40, to play on the Caeiro Metal stage.

Cars are expected to enter Labarta Indoor Park from 1:45 p.m. After the lunch break, the final stage of the Cockle Rally follows. At 4:30 p.m., the first pass to the Pavimentos Noia section begins, which will run again at 7:00 p.m. Ruta Excavaciones M. Rodríguez will take over from 16:50 to 19:20. The winner of this edition will enter the parc fermé at 19:45.

The race celebration will prompt traffic disruptions and the closure of the city’s swimming pool

The celebration of the test of the size of the Cockle of Noia Rally involves taking various measures that affect traffic, parking and some activities. The local police of Noiese state that from Thursday, parking is not allowed on Poeta Avilés Street in Taramancos and on the Malecón de San Lázaro. In addition, this last area will be closed to traffic this Friday while participant checks take place, scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On the other hand, from 14:00 on Friday, parking is prohibited in the section of Poeta Avilés de Taramancos street that runs between the intersection with Francisco Romero Blanco and Pintor Francisco Creo until the end of the rally.

Due to the arrangement of the city section, traffic and vehicle parking on the trial route will also be restricted from 2 p.m. Likewise, parking is prohibited in the sections of the street between Poeta Avilés de Taramancos and Pintor Xenaro Carrero until the end of the race. Local police are asking for the cooperation of neighbors to take the necessary precautions and follow the rules.

On the other hand, the Concello de Noia says that for this reason the city pool will also remain closed, starting at 3:00 p.m.
