Etienne Froidevaux made the decision in the fall to end his career after this season. The striker from Biel sees it as a great gift that the conclusion now takes place in the spectacular context of a playoff final, which after 2010 (with his regular club SC Bern) gives him the chance to win the title a second time. “If you’ve ever been a champion, you chase this feeling and you really want to experience it again,” says the 34-year-old.

He also thinks that the 15 years as an ice hockey professional will certainly help him in his second career: “A wardrobe is certainly not comparable to a classroom, but there are also situations where I get on very well with the young people. identify. And since the teacher shortage is currently a big problem, he should soon come to the first internships for school classes.
But before telling them about history, he wants to make history himself and help lead EHC Biel to its first championship title in 40 years: “Being in the finals is great for us as an organization. We are now reaping the benefits of the good work that has been done in recent years.”
