Oihana Kortazar accepts the challenge to return the record to Camova

The prestige gained over eleven editions and the juicy prizes to be awarded will attract top headliners to Camove next Sunday, April 23rd. After the confirmation of Manuel Merillas, the organization also made official the competition of Oihana Kortazar (Elgueta, Guipúzcoa, 1984), the Basque star who broke Viveiro’s mountain race record in 2019.

The double champion in Zegama is still full of energy at the age of 38, and she just achieved her fourth title of Spanish champion and the record in the ascent and descent of Teide. Cortazar was crowned in Camovi with a record of 4 hours and 27 minutes, which was valid for three editions. Last year, Patricia Pineda reduced it to 4 h 4 m 48 s.

The good prizes that the Cams will award will invite you to continue to experience the limits of the 42 kilometer competition. There will be a prize of 500 euros for the overall male and female winners, who will be able to take another 500 for the race record and 100 for the segment records along the A Silvarosa firewall and down the Via Crucis Monte Castelo.

Waiting list for 21 K

Two weeks after Viveiro enjoyed his track again, registrations are progressing towards a full hall. Almost 700 runners have registered here, and 200 places have been filled in the 21-kilometer race, which has a waiting list. In addition to the marathon, there are also 42 relay races, 10, Camovi Kids and Andaina in honor of Ramón Blanco.
