Ski stars Mikaela Shiffrin (28) and Marco Odermatt (25) have had an excellent season.

They set countless records and surpassed them all. But they differ in one thing – their popularity. While Odermatt in Switzerland is on everyone’s lips, it is different with Shiffrin. She rarely makes headlines in her native America. Many people don’t even realize what she’s doing. This is probably also because most races take place in Europe.

After this season, Shiffrin is once again getting the attention it deserves at home – with appearances on two major TV shows. On the one hand on “Good Morning America” ​​​​​​and on the other hand on the “Tonight Show”. Her appearance on talk show host Jimmy Fallon? Sympathetic and quick-witted.

Two winter gifts

Shiffrin isn’t Fallon’s first guest on the show. After winning slalom gold at the 2014 Olympics, she was invited to a quiz with actress Reese Witherspoon and singer Usher. Five years later she was allowed to sit on the talking bench. At the time, she wowed viewers with her dancing skills, taught Fallon how to “shuffledance” and gave him a ski pass.

The two start talking about their successes. And Fallon wants to know what’s to be won at the races. “What’s the strangest prize you’ve ever received?” Her answer: «A reindeer.». Fallon is stunned. “Did you win a reindeer?” he asks.

“I won six reindeer,” adds Shiffrin. Fallon jokes as she races at the North Pole. And unintentionally hit, because there is a reindeer to win in Levi (Fi). “I take them with me, they run around my house,” is Shiffrin’s witty answer when asked what she does with the animals.
