Fully automatic coffee machine for sale at Amazon: The DeLonghi Magnifica S dances in the premium class in terms of taste

A perfectly prepared coffee or espresso can help to extend the evening with friends in a delicious way. Who wants to see their guests yawning out of the house after the first episode of “Ted Lasso”?

The DeLonghi Magnifica S is a powerful fully automatic coffee machine in the lower price segment. Amazon is currently offering you a whopping 51 percent off the RRP, you save no less than 266 euros. According to Geizhals.de, the next best offer is 297.99 euros.

DeLonghi Magnifica S: Best taste for a low price

But is the Magnifica S any good at all? After all, there are significantly more expensive models on the market. The answer to this question strongly depends on your requirements and expectations of the coffee machine. Of course you should not expect excessive luxury for well under 300 euros.

But in terms of value for money, the Magnifica S certainly convinces. Above all, the small fully automatic coffee machine cuts a very good figure in terms of taste. Arne Preuss of Coffeeness summarizes in his test: “Even though other manufacturers are now following their competitors and building more modern fully automatic coffee machines, the alternatives simply do not deliver the same good cup results in comparison.”

So here DeLonghi has focused on the essentials. Thanks to 13 grind settings, four temperature settings and a stepless adjustment of the coffee strength, the preparation of the coffee or espresso can be set exactly to your taste.

Of course you can also prepare cappuccino and other hot drinks. However, the milk foam function can only be operated manually. Strictly speaking, the Magnifica S is not a fully automatic machine, but that should only be mentioned in passing. Foaming takes practice, but it’s not rocket science. The operation takes some getting used to due to the missing display, but with a little experience that is no problem.

With the DeLonghi Magnifica S you get very good coffee for little money. If you’re looking for entry-level fully automatic alternatives, we’ve got some higher-quality advice for you here.

DeLonghi PrimaDonna Class: A real fully automatic coffee machine

The author of this article uses the DeLonghi PrimaDonna Class himself and is completely satisfied. Here, the milk is frothed fully automatically and you can select a variety of drinks via the display. The bean compartment offers space for 360 grams of the finest roasts. The fully automatic coffee machine is currently available with a 45 percent discount for 719.99 euros at MediaMarkt and Saturn*.

There’s one thing that bothers you about the PrimaDonna Class, though: you don’t get any advance warning when the bean box is empty. As a result, the coffee machine foams the milk gently and then grinds the air. At the end, you have to restart the whole process. However, this problem can be solved by looking into the bean compartment before you start the coffee-making process.
