To be as well prepared as possible for the World Championships in Tampere and Riga (May 12-28), the national ice hockey team will play nine friendly matches within 23 days.
It starts in mid-April in Switzerland, where the Fischer team will meet Slovakia (in Visp and Porrentruy) and France (in Visp and Lausanne) twice.
At the end of April, two matches will follow in Riga against Latvia. At the end of May, Switzerland will face Sweden (in Göteborg), Finland and the Czech Republic (both in Brno) on the occasion of the Euro Hockey Tour.
The ice hockey world championship starts for the national team on May 13 with the game against Slovenia. The other opponents in the preliminary round are Norway, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Canada, Czech Republic and Latvia. (yap/SDA)
