The next round in the FCL dispute was not long in coming. After Bernhard Alpstaeg was invited to a press conference yesterday, FC Luzern reacted immediately and held one a day later. The Board of Directors would like to explain its vision, as stated in advance. And they did.

“The club has never positioned so well”

Minority shareholder Josef Bieri then explains that unlike Alpstaeg, the club is not about restructuring. “We have never been in such a good position. Bieri also emphasizes that he wants to help the FCL lead him to a peaceful future. But you are far from peace. “We could have used the time we spend on the entire theater in a different way,” says Stefan Wolf, chairman of the board. Bieri wants to sell shares in tranches

That’s how it goes today in the heart of the Swissporarena. “Alpstaeg claims that we would enrich ourselves financially. This is shocking and hurtful. I have been working for this club for 9 years and have never charged any expenses,” Bieri explains. Moreover, he has borne all legal costs himself until now. Until now, FCL Holding AG only had to pay a small amount. In addition, Engelberger fills -Koller: “We board members earn 900 francs a month.” Everything is covered there.

Then there’s the claim that Bieri is willing to sell his block of shares in full. The shareholder categorically rejects this. “On February 11, 2021, I said that I wanted to place the 38 percent that I bought from the former shareholders as widely as possible. I still stand by that today.”
