Tadej Pogacar is not enough for the overall victory in Paris-Nice. After two mountain climbs, the Slovenian also wins the final stage around Nice. Pogacar won by 33 seconds ahead of Danish Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard and Frenchman David Gaudu.
Pogacar took 53 seconds ahead of second-placed Gaudu in the standings. Vingegaard was already 1:39 behind in third place. Pogacar triumphed in his first participation as the successor to his compatriot Primoz Roglic, who is contesting the Tirreno-Adriatico this year.
Gino Mäder defended his 5th place overall on the final stretch. The 26-year-old from Bern crossed the finish line 43 seconds behind Pogacar in tenth and last of the second chasing group. (SDA)
