The medal mirror looks so beautiful

The medal table at the World Snowboard and Freestyle Championships in Georgia speaks volumes for Swiss-Ski’s work. After the alpine skiing world championships, where the Swiss won the medal table, a similar picture emerges in Bakuriani. After 19 of 30 medal decisions, the Swiss have won three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. The three gold medals were won by freeskier Gremaud, aerial athlete Roth and Julie Zogg in the parallel slalom. Silver went to Dario Caviezel in the parallel giant and Ladina Jenny in the parallel slalom, while Andri Ragettli in slopestyle, Fanny Smith in ski cross and the Caviezel/Zogg duo took bronze in the team competition.

The ÖSV, a great rival in skiing, is also represented in the freestyle competitions and is even more successful than in the alpine with nine medals. But because there is only one gold medal and many silver and bronze medals, they do not get past seventh place in the ranking.

Ragettli misses gold in the second run

For Switzerland, the medal table could look even better. Andri Ragettli started the slopestyle competition with an excellent first run and led the standings. At the start of the second run, overtaken by Christian Nunmedal, the man from Laax tried to intercept the Norwegian with his second round, but fell when he landed on his third jump. Norwegian qualifier Birk Ruud started last after Ragettli, drove a hammer run in the snow and managed to catch his teammate Nunmedal with 90.75 points and win gold.
