It’s a setback for the New Jersey Devils in the battle for a playoff spot. Against the Buffalo Sabres, the team with the Swiss Nico Hischier (25) and Timo Meier (27) lost 2:5 after a 2:0 lead.
The only NHL game taking place on Saturday night will be between two Eastern Conference teams that are outside the playoff spots. The guests from Newark enter the first break with a 2-0 lead. On the second goal, Hischier and Meier each received an assist point.
The local Buffalo equalized in the second third thanks to two goals from Tage Thompson before the American made the decision with his third goal in the 56th minute. The last two goals were from Empty Netter, with standout Thompson even scoring a fourth time.
