Bobsled pilot Michael Vogt attacks again.

Swiss bobsledder Michael Vogt makes his comeback after his heavy fall in mid-February during the World Cup finals in Lake Placid. After a test on the train from La Plagne, he traveled to the American state of New York, where the World Cup will also take place next year.

The 1980 Olympic circuit will host a two-man and four-man bobsleigh race on Friday and Saturday next week.

A month ago, Vogt fell with the foursome during training for the World Cup in Altenberg and suffered a severe concussion and a bruised shoulder. The pusher, Sandro Michel, was hit even harder. He has now been able to leave the hospital and is recovering.

Investigations stopped

The Public Prosecution Service in Dresden has now stopped the investigation into the accident. Accordingly, there is no evidence “that any manipulations were performed on the sled or on the ice rink. There is also no indication that safety guidelines were violated by the ice rink operator, which caused the injuries,” said a statement from the Public Prosecution Service.

Five Swiss sleds in the US

Despite missing the race in Altenberg, Vogt is in third place in the World Cup standings with a two-man lead before the final match. Switzerland participates in the US with three men’s sleds (Vogt, Simon Friedli, Cédric Follador) and two women’s sleds (Melanie Hasler, Debora Annen). (SDA)
