Surprisingly: In addition to the left-green “IG Freiräume” and “IG Wasser”, Höngger celebrities are also behind the call. Specifically: Felix E. Müller, former editor-in-chief of “NZZ am Sonntag”. And entrepreneur Urs Doubt, member of the board of directors of Doubt Pomy Chips AG. The chip company has acted as a football lawyer in the past. She does not want to comment on Urs Doubt’s call to tsüri.ch. And Felix E. Müller already criticized the spatial planning of Zurich in his articles. Neither he nor the “NZZ” made a statement about the fight against the stadium.

It’s not just the Greens

As early as 2017, the chip baron and the former editor-in-chief fought against the stadium project, at the time in the ‘Höngger Committee’. Now they’re doing it again, albeit anonymously. So it is not just the Greens who are making life difficult for the two Zurich football clubs; celebrities and wealthy people also enter the legal barricade.

The objections that were rejected by the construction court last August have been referred to the administrative judge. After that, you can also expect to go to federal court. Only then is the building permit valid. FCZ boss Ancillo Canepa does not expect a stadium to be ready for occupancy until 2029 at the earliest.
