Novak Djokovic fails in the third round of the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. The little-known Italian Luca Nardi, number 123 in the rankings, is causing a stir against the Serbian.
This has never happened to Djokovic. He has never lost at a tournament of this category or at a Grand Slam event against an opponent ranked so low in the world. The 20-year-old Nardi, who claimed only his fifth victory on the tour, defeated the Serbian 6:4, 3:6, 6:3 in his first appearance in California in five years.
