Blick report confirms: Audi in favor of total takeover of Sauber

What Blick wrote at the end of February was now confirmed by Audi on March 8. The Germans, who will enter Formula 1 in 2026, want to take over Sauber’s entire share package.

“A corresponding agreement has been reached with the former majority shareholder Islero Investments AG, which fully supports the change,” Audi said in a press release.

Seidl introduced as CEO

Oliver Hoffmann will become the new chairman of the board of directors of the Sauber Group. Audi introduces Andreas Seidl as CEO. Seidl already holds this position at Kick-Sauber, the name of the Hinwil racing team during the 2024 season.

“I am convinced that by combining responsibilities and acquiring all shares in the Sauber Group, we will further accelerate our preparation for the start in 2026,” said Hoffmann. “I am pleased that we have been able to convince Andreas Seidl for the position of CEO of the Audi F1 Team. He is exactly the right man for our ambitious project.”
