Janis Moser is celebrating a sense of success in the NHL. After fourteen defeats in a row, the defender and the Arizona Coyotes won 5-3 against the Ottawa Senators. Moser scored his fourth goal of the season.
The Arizona Coyotes have been in a bit of a slump in the NHL lately. Janis Moser’s team suffered fourteen straight losses, and in February the desert team went winless and fell to fourth to last place in the Western Conference.
Against the Ottawa Senators, the second-worst team in the Eastern Conference, the Coyotes can celebrate another sense of success on Saturday night. They won 5-3 thanks to two goals in the final third, having conceded a 3-0 lead up to that point.
Janis Moser made it 2-0 in the 13th minute with a shot from the blue line. It is the defender’s fourth goal of the season. When Matias Maccelli secured the victory in the 59th minute, the Seelander also provided his 20th assist of the season.
Meanwhile, the emotional rollercoaster ride for the New Jersey Devils continues, alternating between victory and defeat. After their recent success against the San Jose Sharks, the team from Newark lost 3:4 to the Anaheim Ducks. Timo Meier equalized in the 18th minute to make it 1-1. It is the twelfth goal of the season for the Herisauer.
Towards the end of the second period, the Devils fell behind 2:4, and New Jersey goalkeeper Nico Daws had to leave his box after only being able to parry ten shots. Akira Schmid remains undefeated with nine shots in the third period, but cannot prevent his team from losing.
In the 58th minute, the Devils came within one goal after their Valais captain Nico Hischier replaced Tyler Toffoli. But because Jack Hughes missed a penalty three seconds before the end, they were unable to make a comeback. (SDA)
