Program change in Kvitfjell: cancellation of departure brings Gut-Behrami closer to the crystal ball

No descent in Kvitfjell – Lara Gut-Behrami is one step closer to the descent ball.

Bad weather again for the ski women: After the two Super-G events in Val di Fassa last weekend, the two downhill training sessions in Kvitfjell, Norway also fell victim to the snow. However, training is mandatory so that a race can take place.

That is why there is now a change in the program: one of the two canceled Super-Gs in Val di Fassa will be moved on Saturday, while the Super-G planned for Sunday will remain in place. However, the departure is not carried out at all.

This means that there will now only be one descent, namely the season finale in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Austria). And that is an advantage for Lara Gut-Behrami (32). Because a 7th place in the last race was enough for the Ticino woman to secure the small crystal ball. Mathematically, only Cornelia Hütter (31), Jasmine Flury and Stephanie Venier (both 30) can intercept Lara Gut-Behrami. However, the Ösi duo Venier and Hütter should finish at least second and Flury would certainly need the win.

However, things will be a little more open again in the Super-G classification. With the extra race rescheduled, an athlete can now earn a maximum of 300 instead of 200 points. In the already tight Super-G classification – Gut-Behrami has a five-point lead over Hütter – the final races promise a lot of excitement. (like/cmü/che)
