Not only Roger Federer (42) is facing a legal dispute with his mega estate, Xherdan Shaqiri (32) also has many construction problems. The difference: the maestro’s villa is already under construction, but nothing is happening on the Nati star’s property.

The city of Rheinfelden AG granted him the building permit in August 2022. After the planning application was published in the spring of 2021, there were four objections. Criticism was expressed about, among other things, the shadow areas, the light radiation and the small green space.

These objections were initially resolved by a project correction, as a result of which the building application was approved. However, the permit was not yet legally binding; the complainants had 30 days to appeal.

The highest authority is concerned with Shaqiri’s villa

About a year and a half have passed since then and nothing has happened. “People always come by and wonder what’s going on here,” a resident of the chic Kapuzinerberg district in Rheinfelden told the “Aargauer Zeitung”. Every now and then Shaqiri’s parents come to take care of the garden, otherwise it is quiet around the site on which the 119-time international wants to build his 2.8 million villa.

As the newspaper reports, nothing can be done about the property at this time as the case is still pending. “The procedures are currently underway and the issued building permit is not yet legally binding,” said city spokesman Roger Erdin. Accordingly, the matter is in federal court – apparently because of Shaqiri.

As the medium learned, the Administrative Court – the body before the Federal Court – “withdrew the building permit and approved the neighborhood’s complaint.” Shaqiri is now apparently challenging this decision at the highest level.

The 32-year-old’s 2,700-square-foot luxury cabin will offer a cinema, outdoor pool, gym, four bedrooms and six bathrooms. A senior apartment is also planned on the first floor. However, it is currently unclear whether the ideas can be put into practice. It is not known when a final decision can be expected.

Shaqiri is not the only Swiss sports star to face a legal dispute during the construction of his house. The planned route around Lake Zurich always raises objections to Roger Federer’s luxury property in Kempraten SG. Recently, the planned boathouse also caused problems.

And the home of former ice hockey player Mark Streit (46) in Muri BE was also the subject of a legal dispute, because a groundwater well (Arteser) was drilled during construction. As a result, this repeatedly led to water damage for local residents.
