The transport to a Swiss hospital was carried out by Rega, bobsled association Swiss Sliding wrote in a statement. Last week, during training for the World Championships in Altenberg, Germany, Michel was seriously injured in the hip, thigh and chest area, because the fallen sled slid uncontrollably from the finish line into the pusher previously thrown out of the bobsled and lay unconscious on the track .

The slightly injured Haas is already back in action

For Michel it is now a matter of finding his way back to a normal life in Switzerland. The pusher Andreas Haas (27), who was slightly injured in the horror crash, is already back in action: he is training this week at the World Cup location in Winterberg (De) in the pair of pilot Simon Friedli (33) and will participate in the title battle last weekend.

Pilot Michael Vogt (26) has now been given a forfeit for the entire World Cup. It is clear that due to his severe concussion, the World Cup races in the big sled in the first weekend of March will come too early. For the fourth man in the accident bobsleigh, the slightly injured pusher Dominik Hufschmid (25), a comeback to the World Cup in the foursome of Cédric Follador (29) is under discussion.
