Fribourg-Gottéron and the ZSC Lions are currently the two best ice hockey teams in Switzerland. It is quite possible that they will compete for the championship title in the play-off final in April. One person was particularly hot on Friday evening in this top-flight battle, which Fribourg won 2-1 in a penalty shootout and stoked the play-off fire in early February.
ZSC star Denis Malgin (27) was involved in the most exciting scenes of the game. He performed Müsterchen at his best, but also played many secondary scenes and seemed extremely charged.

But instead of showering, Malgin marks the late 1-1 with 12 seconds left. He celebrates this exuberantly and also attacks the Friborg public. For a Gottéron fan the whole thing is apparently too much; he runs over a cameraman at the sign.
When it finally comes to a penalty shootout, Malgin also tries, but fails. How would he have reacted if he had decided the match? This honor goes to Friborg’s top scorer Marcus Sörensen.
Friborg and ZSC will probably only meet each other this season if both reach the play-off final. Malgin can assume that in this case he will not be received very favorably by the Fribourg annex. On Friday he will be accompanied by whistles. He showed during the last playoff game in 2022 that he really enjoys the atmosphere in the hockey temple of Gottéron. At the time, he scored the decisive goal in overtime in Game 1 and Game 3 in Fribourg. Zurich won the semi-final series 4-0.
