Still booing Astros back in the World Series, now against Phillies

The World Series, the finale of the American baseball season, takes place this season between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros. It’s the Astros’ fourth playoff in six years, and the Phillies have been waiting for a playoff appearance for thirteen years.

The Astros reached the World Series by a sweep in the best-of-seven series with the New York Yankees: 4-0. The fourth game ended with a 6:5 victory.

In 2019 and last year, the Texan team lost the World Series to Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves, respectively. In 2017, the title was won at the expense of the LA Dodgers.

Pitchers Lance McCuller Jr. of the Astros

That title is still controversial because the Astros allegedly used technology to steal signals from the Dodgers and passed them on to their own thugs. Since then, the squad has been dismissed for many fans.

booed

“I know there are still people who don’t like us,” Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. said shortly after his team took on the Yankees. “They will keep booing us, but at some point you have to respect what we’re doing.”

Because not enough attention is paid to sporting achievements, says McCullers Jr. “A lot has happened in recent years. There has been a lot of talk, but I have nothing more to say about it now. We keep qualifying for the World Series.” We always play the best teams and keep beating them.”

Party in the Phillies after defeating the San Diego Padres

The Astros are having an excellent season. In the regular competition, the team was unbeatable with 106 wins. No game was lost in the American League playoffs.

Phillies with more effort in the final

The Phillies have a slightly more difficult road into the World Series, finishing third in the regular season. In the playoffs, the Philadelphia team, which has been waiting for an MLB title for fourteen years, was too strong for the St. Louis Cardinals (2-0) and Atlanta Braves (3-1).

San Diego defeated the Padres 4-1 in the National League Finals. The fifth game ends on Sunday with a 4:3 win.
