They once played together for YB, but now Bergen’s sports director denies his player Nsame his request to switch.

First Jean-Pierre Nsame (30) complained about not enough playing time, later an interview followed in which he spoke openly about offers from Basel and Servette. Nsame had made his dissatisfaction with the situation in Bern public several times. And according to the ‘Tribune de Genève’, which maintains close contact with the striker’s entourage, the matter escalated on Monday evening.

“Schämpu” is angry that YB won’t let him move to Geneva. Because Nsame would prefer to return to the club where he really launched his career in 2016. He is said to have already reached an agreement with Servette, who is looking for a new striker after the departure of Chris Bedia to Union Berlin.

Nsame wanted to emphasize his change request again on Monday, but it fell on deaf ears for Spycher and von Bergen. The Berne condition remains that Nsame may only move abroad. The tone between Nsame and the YB bosses became increasingly harsh until the Cameroonian left the meeting in anger and slammed the door.

Is Nsame going to Italy in the winter?

A move within Switzerland during this transfer period seems out of the question. Two scenarios are therefore conceivable for Nsame: he agrees to a foreign transfer and leaves YB six months before the end of his contract. Or he can see out the contract and move to Geneva for free in the summer.

There would be interest from abroad in the Super League’s second best goalscorer with nine goals. A concrete lead would lead to an Italian club. Nsame does not have fond memories of Serie A after his loan to Venezia FC; he did not score a goal in eleven games. But if he wants to play regularly this spring, he would almost have to move abroad. After these events, it is unlikely that he will get any more playing time in Bern.

However the situation resolves itself, it is an unpleasant end to a great success story. After five championship titles, two cup wins, 242 league games and 140 goals, Nsame is likely to leave YB in a dispute. The only question is: when and where?
