Sebastian Stalder narrowly missed the top ten of the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz. In twelfth place in the individual race, which was shortened from 20 to 15 km, the 25-year-old from Zurich Oberland lost 5.2 seconds to the tenth-placed German Roman Rees.

Stalder, who reached the top 10 three times in an individual competition this season, made two shooting errors in difficult circumstances, each resulting in a 45-second penalty. Joscha Burkhalter reached 24th place, James Pascal was 69th on his World Cup debut.

The Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bö is in a class of his own, makes no mistakes and takes 96 seconds away from his older brother Tarjei. With his 72nd World Cup victory in an individual race, his fourth this season, he extends his lead in the general classification. The German Johannes Kühn completes the podium. (SDA/sbe)
