Ex-DFB star Christoph Daum (70) has been battling lung cancer for two years. He has now undergone more than twenty chemotherapy treatments – further consequences.
But he has not lost the power to perform in public. Last Friday he attended a carnival event in Cologne with his wife Angelica (61). There he also gave the Cologne “Express” the latest health update. “It won’t get better. But the situation has not deteriorated since the last investigation,” says the ex-cult coach of Bayer Leverkusen.
In consultation with his doctors, Daum will go to Thailand in a few days to recover with ex-Bayer manager Reiner Calmund (75). There he enjoyed a bit of sun. “Such a change of scenery is absolutely good. “Seeing something different for a few days is very good for your psyche,” says Daum. Especially because the long-term treatment took its toll mentally. “I just commute between home and the university clinic,” says Daum. That already causes stress.
At the end of October 2022, Daum announced his cancer on Instagram. Since then, he has regularly shared his healing process with the public. (Gentlemen)
