This is probably not how Jarrell Miller (35) envisioned the start of the new year. The boxing villain (26 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) makes the following headlines two weeks after his defeat in Saudi Arabia on “Judgment Day” against Daniel Dubois (26). He was arrested in Florida for theft.
The spectacular thing is how the incident happened. According to US media reports, the 150-pound hunk stole a Dodge pickup from a car dealership in Florida with the help of an accomplice. Miller’s accomplice claimed she left her smartphone in the car. After the car dealer unlocked the car, Miller and his accomplice attacked the dealer and fled with the vehicle.
But the operation had a catch: there was apparently a tracking device hidden in the stolen car, which is why Miller and his accomplice were caught a short time later.
The car theft joins a long list of scandals in the boxer’s career. The fight in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago against Daniel Dubois, in which he received a base fee of $500,000, should give Miller’s career real momentum again.
The scandal boxer previously had to serve a two-year ban for drug use (2020 to 2022) and was convicted twice for doping. (par)
