FC Sion ends the year with a profit.

Sion finds its way back to victory after four draws in a row. At the end of the preliminary round, the Valais won 2-1 at home against bottom team Schaffhausen. At halftime, coach Didier Tholot’s team was still 0-1 behind. Less than twenty seconds had passed in the second half before Ali Kabacalman brought Sitten’s team back into the match with a beautiful shot.

In the 62nd minute, Dejan Sorgic completed the turnaround. And it gives Sion a good starting point to enter the winter break as a leader. The pursuers from Thun, who are three points behind, will play their last match of the year in Baden on Saturday. If they leave points behind, the Valais are assured of the winter championship title.

Forte annoys Frei, Muntwiler’s farewell is a success

There is also a party in Neuchâtel. Uli Fortes Xamax achieved its first home win since August 11 against Aarau. U21 international Franck Surdez was man of the match in the 2-1 win. First the light flank Zachary Athekame prepares for the opening goal, then he makes it 2-0 himself with a direct free kick. The Aarau team, trained by Alex Frei, scored through Valon Fazliu shortly before halftime, but it was not enough for the guests.

After nine games without a win in a row, FC Wil is now celebrating another complete success. The Eastern Swiss side dramatically won their home match against Stade Nyonnais 3-2 as they said goodbye to local hero Philipp Muntwiler, who hung up his boots. The Wilers took a 2-0 lead in the second half, but lost this lead until the 83rd minute. In the 91st minute, captain Kastrijot Ndau took courage and shot from outside the penalty area. The 24-year-old’s low shot ends up right in the corner of the goal. With his first goal of the season, Ndau ensured Wiler’s first victory since September 22 – and a successful dernière for Muntwiler.
