A day after the first World Cup victory in the two-man bobsleigh, Michael Vogt missed his first podium this winter in the four-man bobsleigh in La Plagne.
The 25-year-old from Schwyz and his pushers Oliver Gyger, Andrea Orsinger and Sandro Michel took 4th place. The gap to third place was 36 hundredths. In the second race the quartet improved by one position.
Cédric Follader finished the race, at the same time as Vogt after the first run, in sixth place, Simon Friedli finished seventh. German sledders secured all three podium places: Olympic champion Francesco Friedrich won ahead of Johannes Lochner and Adam Ammour. Lochner won the first two World Cup competitions in the four-man bobsled this season. (SDA/men)
