YB wins 1-0. But the guest has many more opportunities. And SLO also plays better than YB. Of course: the demands on the champion are completely different from those of the newcomer. That’s why there are so many insufficient people on the Bern side. The defense work is often sloppy. And there is a lack of imagination and creativity in attack. Lugano – Basel 1:3

The right team won the game – no ifs or buts! Lugano comes out of nowhere to make it 1-1 and then has a short period of urgency. Otherwise, the team only shows meager food on the day when captain Jonathan Sabbatini becomes Luganesi’s new record player with his 412th appearance. It would be an exaggeration to call the offensive a mild breeze. The guests from Basel, who thanks to new coach Fabio Celestini have finally adopted the virtues necessary in the relegation battle, are completely different. New signing Dubasin, who is flourishing under Celestini, scores and provides an assist. And then of course there is debutant Roméo Beney, whose knees are shaking a bit in the beginning, but who turns up the heat in the closing stages and scores the goal to make it 3-1, their first away win since April.

St. Gallen – Yverdon 4:0

On Sinterklaas Eve, all St. Gallen players receive sweets, i.e. a passing grade. The standout is Willem Geubbels, who achieved the highest score with two goals and one assist. Captain Lukas Görtler also stands out in his return to the starting eleven and scores the first two goals. There is something for everyone among Yverdon’s guests. The performance is simply insufficient, although you could have expected a reaction after the 0:5 against Lugano. The defense in particular is completely overwhelmed in the beginning and goalkeeper Sebastian Breza makes a mistake at 0:3.
