Great honor for Laurent Meuwly (49). The Swiss athletics coach has been honored for his years of dedication with the Coaching Achievement Award from the international athletics association World Athletics. The award recognizes coaches who have demonstrated outstanding performance and contributions to the development, promotion and enhancement of coaching.
Since 2019, Meuwly has been working as head of the sprint, hurdles and relay departments of the Dutch association. This year he helped Femke Bol (23) win the world title in the 400 meter hurdles and the gold in the women’s 4×400 meter relay in Budapest.
“I feel very honored to receive this special award and dedicate it to all the people who have worked with me over the past 30 years and of course to all the athletes with whom I have had the opportunity to work,” said the Swiss. the award he received.
Before working in the Netherlands, Meuwly was head coach for sprints, obstacles and relays in Switzerland. He still works with sprinter Ajla Del Ponte (27) and has coached Lea Sprunger (33) in the past. (mab)
