From a sporting point of view, Rapperswil-Jona’s match against Fribourg on Friday was frustrating. The Lakers go down 1:4.
The evening also ends poorly outside the stadium. As the police of the canton of St. Gallen reports, after the match there were, among other things, targeted attacks on police officers.
Already in the Rapperswil stadium there were provocations between the two fan camps after the final siren. When the visiting fans wanted to start the return journey in two cars, a larger group of Rappi fans, who according to the police were partly masked, tried to attack the vehicles.
About 40 people eventually attacked both the cars and the police officers present. Some Friborg fans then also left the buses, resulting in bottle throwing and stone attacks. According to Kapo, the chaos of Rapperswil then specifically attacks police officers and the security service. To prevent the two fan camps from meeting each other, the police then used heavy pepper spray.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the clashes on Friday evening. However, criminal charges against the acting fans would be considered, Kapo St. Gallen wrote on Sunday. (cat/SDA)
