Kung Fu kicks, accidents, stinky fingers: this is Mario Balotelli’s scandalous record

The first really major mention in Mario Balotelli’s scandal file dates from April 21, 2010. Balo’s Inter plays against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Milan won the first leg 3-1. Yet he manages to make everyone mad at him. He comes into the match in the 75th minute and is only notable for his lethargy. When the game is over, he leaves the field and throws the jersey onto the field. The San Siro acknowledges his behavior with a shrill whistle concert.

In the summer of 2010, Balotelli moved to Manchester City. In the English industrial city, his scandal file quickly adds a new chapter. On the Man City pitch he throws darts at junior players. Balotelli then explains that he just wanted to ‘scare’ the boys.

You have to come up with this idea first. Together with some friends, he sets off fireworks from his bathroom window. It’s just a shame that first a towel and later parts of his house catch fire. The fire brigade then speaks of “a substantial fire”.

Balotelli also occasionally loses his nerve on the field. In the Europa League match against Dynamo Kiev, he knocked down his opponent Goran Popov with a kung fu kick. Red card!

After moving to AC Milan, he picks up in Italy where he left off in England – and soon causes the next scandal. When he was greeted by media representatives at Naples airport, he roughly knocked his camera and microphone out of a man’s hand.

Balotelli now plays for Nice. And you can guess that he is also making negative headlines off the field in France. Because he scored two goals in the match against Olympique Marseille, he was allowed to borrow his agent Mino Raiola’s Bentley as a reward. Balotelli doesn’t get far, he crashes the expensive vehicle.

Before an insignificant friendly match, there was a heated argument between Balotelli and his Nice coach Patrick Vieira. Super Mario loses his nerve and wants to beat up his coach. The fact that things don’t get that far is only thanks to the employees who were able to intervene at the last minute.

Sion and Balotelli: things won’t last long. In the match at FC Basel he gave the finger to the FCB fans and grabbed between his legs several times. But instead of apologizing afterwards, he went a step further and announced on social media: “Swiss Association: I don’t know what kind of mafia you are. Balotelli has been playing in Turkey again since September, for Adana Demirspor. During the international break he will be in his home country Italy. On Thursday evening he crashed his Audi Q8 in Brescia, Italy, then staggered from his damaged car and refused to take an alcohol test.
