After Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea (5:30 p.m.), Akanji would most likely join the national team on Monday (team announcement on Friday). It cannot yet be said whether the disease will have consequences for the team’s efforts.
Switzerland will play the catch-up match in the European Championship qualifier against Israel in Hungary on Wednesday, followed by the home match against Kosovo (November 18) and the away match in Romania (November 21). (ch)
