Two people were injured in a serious accident in Davos on Tuesday morning, the Graubünden cantonal police reported. HCD defender Noah Schneeberger (35) was also involved, it has now become known. However, he was not behind the wheel when the collision occurred.
The description in the police report sounds dramatic: “A 69-year-old was driving on the main road from Klosters towards Davos after 9:45 am. In the Salezentobel gallery, the car collided head-on and sideways with a semi-trailer driven by a 56-year-old man coming from the opposite direction.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and “had to be extricated from the car by the Davos fire brigade using breaking tools.” Passenger Schneeberger was moderately injured. Together, a team from the Davos rescue service and two Rega crews treated the two injured people. They were flown by helicopter to the Graubünden cantonal hospital in Chur.
“After the operations he needed went well, Noah is still in the hospital,” the HCD wrote in a statement. The club wishes its professional a speedy recovery.
After five years, Schneeberger returned to HCD from EHC Biel this season, with whom he reached the playoff final. He recently had to take a break due to a knee injury. In 2015, the defender became HCD champion.
