Malenovic always wanted to become a sports director

The ex-professional already works for Zurich. After Jurendic’s departure, Canepa brought him in as an external advisor to analyze the club’s structures and internal processes. Blick heard that Malenovic had expressed his desire to become a sports director at a club years ago. But that would require him to give up his lucrative consulting business. As a result of the merger, the industry giant now has an office in Switzerland. In the future it will apparently be managed by Malenovic’s former employee and ex-GC sports director Paul Bollendorff (43).

Also a Bayern scout part of the external solution?

On paper, Malenovic is free for a new job in football. At the FCZ it would be a job that would also fit better with life as a father of two children. Sports director instead of the stressful jet-setting life as a player’s agent, which, according to Malenovic’s own statements, means about 300 flights a year? Who knows.

However, blue expert Rolf Fringer does not believe in the Malenovic variant. The ex-Nati coach is thinking of an internal solution. But FCZ head scout Thomas Bickel (59), head of sport until 2020, will not make a comeback in this position.

But Malenovic is unlikely to take over on his own. According to Blue, Bayern’s young chief scout Florian Zahn (41) will also be in the Canepa box for the derby. From the world club to the FCZ?
