“What an experience!”: Ski star Kilde ventures onto the catwalk

The Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (31) has many talents. He has exciting duels with Marco Odermatt (25) on his skis and cuts a good figure on the surfboard or on the golf course in the summer.

He also has a sense of rhythm. Recently, a video went viral in which Kilde performed with his girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin (28) and his training colleagues Adrian Smiseth Sejersted (29) and Felix Monsen (28) on the ABBA hit “Gimme! Give me! Give me! (A Man After Midnight)» dances.

Now he shows another facet. He became a model on Friday evening. “I’ve never done anything like this before,” he tells the Norwegian “KK Magazin” and finds the whole thing quite surreal. “I didn’t know what I was getting into.”

During Fashion Week in Milan (It) he walked the catwalk for Hugo Boss – together with top models such as Gigi Hadid (28) and Ashley Graham (35). Under the motto ‘Be your own boss’, the fashion company presented its autumn/winter 2023 collection in the setting of a futuristic office.

Other athletes there too

Kilde’s outfit is reminiscent of a man on his way to work. Striped shirt combined with tie and black jacket – the decorative cross and a briefcase catch the eye.

“What an experience!” Kilde wrote on Instagram after the show. He wasn’t the only non-model. In addition to him, Hugo Boss hired other athletes. This includes Brazilian athlete Paulo André de Oliveira (25) and British boxer Anthony Joshua (33).

Modeling was a special challenge for Kilde. While everything moves fast during a ski race, on the catwalk you have time to notice details. This makes it difficult to maintain a stone face. “I felt the corners of my mouth twitch and I just wanted to smile,” Kilde told “KK Magazin”.

Shiffrin not in Milan

Shiffrin, however, was not on the runway. While Kilde traveled directly to Europe after the training camp in Chile, his girlfriend – due to various sponsorship agreements – made a stopover in New York.

The two have been on the red carpet together several times. Now Kilde has made a fashionable appearance on her own. And Shiffrin should be proud of him from afar. (beer)
