Objections related to acquisitions new cars They are slightly more than those related to the purchase of used cars, the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Competition (Acodeco) reported this Sunday.
According to the institution, from January to August this year he received 83 complaints against new car dealerships, for a total of $1,412,994.89 i 77 vs. the company of used car sales, for $589,968.77.
Complaints about new cars cover 21 different economic entities, from one to 20 cases.
Acodeco points out that Grupo Sílaba leads the new vehicle complaints board with 23 ($373,225.48), followed by Ricardo Pérez with 20 ($425,981.70) and Petroautos with seven ($128,497.01).
WITH between five and two complaints Fortune Automotive Distributor, Compañía Chiricana de Automóviles, Panamotor, Copama, Bahía Motors, Changan Autos, Ford Auto Panamá and Motores Japoneses also appear on the list.
While Alemautos Panamá, Automotora Autostar, Bavarian Motors, Excel Automotriz Mari Pérez Motors and VV Autos Panamá come forward with a complaint.
In cases brought against new car agencies, the reasons were highlighted, 64 for breach of warranty for $1,375,021.55; 7 due to lack of information ($76,015.19); 5 for hidden defects ($154,183.00); 2 for offensive clauses ($158,500.00) and 2 for custody of assets ($3,162.24).
Other reasons were one for improper collection ($160.50), refund ($200.00) and breach of service ($109.09).
On the occasion of complaints in favor of consumers, from January to August this year Acodeco register 55 for $1,151,770.68.
Regarding the 77 complaints against used car companies, the following reasons were recorded: breach of warranty, 42 ($358,816.31); lack of information, 24 ($114,401.46); offending clause, 7 ($89,741.00); hidden vice, 2 ($21,830.00); breach of contract, 1 ($5,000.00) and complaint for breach of service for $180.
Farid Motor, Sandi Autos, Auto Uno de Panamá, CMG Motors Group, Grupo Tecnicar and Mega Car led the complaints.
Acodeco recommends that customers checkto the physical address of the business entity; seek advice from a suitable mechanic or trusted person before buying a car; perform road tests of the vehicle being purchased and document the completed transaction and payments.
