Author: John Paul Acevedo

With the new victory in the set, the Spaniard remains 99 points behind the Frenchman Febvre

The thirteenth stage of the Motocross World Championship confirmed this once again the most solid candidate for the title is the Spanish pilot Jorge Prado. In the arena of the mythical lommel’s circleLugovac once again gave a good example of his talent on soft ground, performing two good sleeves that helped him to be second overall in the Grand Prix and conceding only two points to the Frenchman Romain Febvre. In Belgium, in his second home, Prado surfed the waves and sand like a champion.

The scenario of the last championship rounds was repeated again, with Febvre in a desperate attack (it’s his fourth consecutive victory) and Jorge Prado, who responds cautiously, and when he can, forcefully. Gas Gas the man is clear that his goal is not to touch the ground, not to get into unnecessary confrontations and thus avoid the scenario of falls or injuries, which is the only thing that can separate him from this long-awaited and well-deserved title.

In fact, in qualifying on Saturday, despite being fastest in the time trialPrado made life somewhat complicated with two crashes that dropped him to fifth place. That’s why he corrected the mistakes on Sunday, avoided crashes and risks at the start of the first race, then allowed his ever-fluid rhythm in the sand to take him to third place behind Febvre and Coldenhoff. In the second lap, Prado was better, just behind Rubén Fernández, who made it shooting from the holeand Jeremy Seewer, but in the first turns he went on them and he took the lead in order not to abandon it in the whole sleeve. The Lugo’s tenth victory There was no shortage of excitement as Febvre, who started at the bottom, made an epic comeback to catch up and finish second. Prado defended himself with solvency and celebrated the victory in the manga as another important step towards the title: «Another very satisfying Grand Prix, we keep the red plate and a big advantage. In the second race I felt very comfortable on a track that was destroyed by potholes and I found my rhythm and managed to defend myself when Febvre arrived. I would love to win the Grand Prix, but I leave with a very good taste in my mouth for winning the race and consolidating the lead,” he said.

Ruben Fernandez, despite a good second round, suffered a little more in the sand; he was overall eighth and remains fourth in the championship. After the test in Flanders, Jorge Prado still leads the championship with 665 points compared to Febvre’s 566.
