German tennis player Alexander Zverev He is again facing allegations of domestic violence by his ex-partner Brenda Pate, with whom he shares a daughter. According to German newspaper Der Spiegel, Berlin’s public prosecutor’s office asked the Tiergarten District Court on July 7 to issue a sanctions order against the 2021 Olympic champion over the suspected attack.
This procedure can be used to determine fines and imprisonment up to one year to probation without the need for a capital trial. If the court issues a sanction order, Zverev could appeal within two weeks. Otherwise, it will be final.
It is not the first time that the German tennis player has been accused of violence by one of his former partners: in November 2020, Zverev’s ex-girlfriend, Olga Sharipovashe told tennis magazine Racquet that Zverev became violent towards her during the 2019 ATP Masters in Shanghai. Sharipova published the second part of the allegations in Slate Magazine in August 2021.
