Lugo will play six friendly matches

Author: CD LUGO

The medical examinations have already started and the pre-season starts on Monday

For Lugo, the holidays are over. Football players and coaches rush the last hours of the summer break to get back to work and welcome the pre-season with the ambition to arrive at the beginning of the First Federal League with all guarantees.

Preseason training starts on Monday under the leadership of new coach Pedro Munitis, and medical examinations have already started in the last few hours. In fact, three new signings have already done so: Gonçalo Tabuaço, Sabit Abdulai and Lucas Díaz. This Thursday and tomorrow the rest of the team will go to wait for new reinforcements.

The team from Lugo is waiting for an intense pre-season. The first friendly match that the students of Pedro Munitis will play in the Portuguese city of Melgaço on the 28th at five in the afternoon Portuguese time against Porto B.

On August 2nd, the albivermellos will play their second friendly match at the municipal ground of Cantarran, in Viveiro, against Real Madrid Castilla. Without a doubt, a good test for the Lugo team against young promises led by former international Raúl González. The fight will be at seven o’clock in the evening.

Three days later, Lugo will return to the land of A Mariña, more precisely to Foz, the city where he will face Compostela. It will be at six in the evening. On August 11, they will go to O Carballiño to face Arenteira, a game that will be played at half past eight in the afternoon.

On August 15, albivermellos will return to A Mariña. They will face Celta B in Viveiro at seven in the evening. And Pedro Munitis’ team will have their last test on August 19 in Asturias at eight in the afternoon against Avilés. A week later, on the weekend of August 26 and 27, to be precise, the First Federation starts, the league in which Lugo has high hopes. And that is that according to what Tino Saqués already commented at the time, the goal is nothing more than promotion and thus regaining his place in professional football where he has been for the last eleven seasons.

More signatures are awaited

So far, Lugo has made nine incorporations, but the albivermello club has given 24 victims. That’s why there are still plenty of signings to reach Ángel Carro’s team. The signings so far are Lucas Díaz, Gonçalo Tabuaço, Bernardo Cruz, Carlos Julio Martínez, Gorka Pérez, Sabit Abdulai and Willy Ledesma.
