Basketball superstar LeBron James postpones the end of his career for at least a year and will continue to play for the Los Angeles Lakers next season.
The 38-year-old made the announcement at the ESPYs, where he received the award for the best scorer in NBA history. In February, the four-time NBA champion broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record (38,387) to become the NBA’s leading scorer (38,652).
After falling out of the playoffs, James left it open whether he would continue chasing points or retire. “The day I can no longer give everything on the field, I will stop. Lucky for you, that day isn’t today,” says James.
The forward was first drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 and is now in his 21st season. (SDA/SME)
