The Bernese sport climber Sascha Lehmann cannot repeat the performance at the season opener in Innsbruck at the home World Cup in Villars-sur-Ollon.
The 25-year-old head specialist, who won the World Cup in Tyrol for the second time two weeks ago, failed in the semi-finals in the Vaud ski area and finished 18th. Shortly before the World Cup at home in Bern (August 1-12), Lehmann feels “basically in shape. There are still a few weeks to work on the finer points.”
The twelve other Swiss athletes were eliminated in the qualification in Villars-sur-Ollon. Nino Grünenfelder (29th) and Jonas Utelli (30th) just missed out on the top 26 in the semi-finals. Petra Klingler classified as the best Swiss in 32nd place. (SDA)
