The 23-year-old scored in the 65th minute to make it 1-0 against Italy. Thanks to the goals in the direct duels, Switzerland then managed to qualify for the next round despite a moderate goal difference.
Botheim is no longer a blank slate. In the past, however, he was not only talked about with football. Botheim has a close friendship with Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland (22), and the two still go on holiday together today. Together with another former player of the junior team, Erik Tobias Sandberg (23), they also released a YouTube video in 2016 in which they sang a rap song. With the southern Italians, he managed to maintain his lead in the competition last season with an eleven point lead. He has one goal and three assists in 28 games.
