Zelnova sells 12% more with its home care brands

Želnova Zeltia, producer O Porriño (Pontevedra) home care products, set new records at the end of 2022 with a turnover of 79.6 million euros, 12% more than the previous year. This company, known for its brands Casa Jardín, Toke, Kill-Paff and ZZ, achieves record sales, which ranks it among the ten most important Spanish companies in their segment of activity in the sector and the first in Galicia. “This increase is mainly due to our international growth, especially in Italy and Southern Europe, and to a lesser extent due to inflation and the increase in raw material costs, which were only partially passed on to our customers,” explains CEO of Zelnova, Juan Carlos Ameneiro.

This double-digit sales growth was punished by inflation in the costs of raw materials, the company points out, especially oil, steel, energy and transport.

Thus, the amount of units sold increases by more than 5% compared to the previous year, with Spain as the main market, followed by Italy, a country where they increased by more than 30%. Part of this increase is due to purchase of Toke brandan operation formalized by the O Porriño company in February 2021 to boost the growth of Toke, a symbolic brand, “with which millions of Spaniards have grown and with which we will continue to grow”, Zelnova managers recalled after the operation.

The progress of business has created good expectations in the company, to the extent that within the framework of the strategic plan, it plans to reach EUR 85 million in turnover by 2023. “We are very satisfied because we exceeded all the goals we set for ourselves in our 2018-2022 strategic plan. sales growth of 40% and ebitda (results before tax) of 63%,” explained Ameneiro.
