Bad news for Samuel Giger. The 25-year-old will miss the Central Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ISAF) in Dagmersellen LU this Sunday due to an injury. The “Luzerner Zeitung” reports this on Wednesday. In the afternoon, Giger confirmed the news on Instagram. “I hope to be back at Schwingplatz soon,” he writes.
Giger tore a muscle fiber during a workout about a month ago and missed the cantonal St. Gallen, the Stoos-Schwinget and the Northeast Swiss Association Festival as a result. Since his recovery is not going according to plan, he now also has to endure the Central Swiss Wrestling Festival.
Instead of the Thurgau, Mario Schneider will move up next Sunday. The 31-year-old belongs to the same swing club as Giger. (byl)
