They eagerly await the arrival of their superstar in Florida. The rise in ticket prices following the announcement of Lionel Messi’s (35) move to Inter Miami shows how much anticipation there is. Before even a play date was set, prices went from $30 to $500 (just under 450 Swiss francs).
And now the hype has been fueled even further. Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas (60) has revealed that Messi will make his debut for the club on July 21 as part of the new League Cup, a tournament between the MLS and the Mexican Liga MX. In the competition, the game on August 21 against Charlotte FC would be regarded as a debut. After this announcement, ticket prices for the games skyrocketed again, to $1,050, which is about 960 francs.
If Sergio Busquets (34) were to sign – rumor has it that this is almost certain – these prices should reach new dimensions again. And because Inter Miami’s stadium “only” has a capacity of 18,000 spectators, there is a good chance that prices will not drop in the first season. (nsa)
